Mike McCarty is the founder and Director of the Public Training Institute.  He has provided training and consulting to a myriad of organizations throughout the United States.

Mike was one of the original detectives with the Metropolitan Police Department's Domestic Violence Division in Nashville, Tennessee and was instrumental in implementing the community-based program. Nashville’s Domestic Violence Unit has been labeled a model program by the U.S. Department of Justice and former President Clinton and has been adopted by communities throughout the world.

Mike is also on the Advisory Board for Communities Against Violence Network (CAVNET) headquartered in Washington D.C. He graduated from Wabash College with a B.A. in History and Psychology and is currently working on a M.A.
